Passionate about storytelling and giving voice to the voiceless, I spent my youth as an actor, graduating magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University with the Greer Garson Award. My professional career included premiering a short film at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. I began working in tech in 2018, as Digital Strategist for DiversityInc Media LLC and eventually Marketing Manager for AWS Health. When my father became ill in 2018, my life changed dramatically as I became his primary caregiver. I experienced a lack of support personally, professionally and institutionally. When I discovered there were millions of other young caregivers just like me who felt they too had no resources, I decided to combine my passion for advocacy and knowledge of technology to create I-Ally, an app that provides services and support that fulfill the unique needs of the millennial family caregiver. Since then, I’ve been named a “Hero of the COVID Crisis” by Authority Magazine & Thrive Global; had my writing published in Thought Catalog, Medium Women, Hackernoon.com, Linkedin.com, and Caregiving.com, as well as Founded by Women: The Book. Most recently, I joined forces with acclaimed Egyptian filmmaker, animator and friend Roshdy Ahmed to co-direct and produce Caregivers: A Story About Them, which was just nominated for Best Documentary Short at the Oniros Film Awards.
